ABSTRACT
This project work is designed to enlighten and examine an assessment of effective planning as a tool for measuring the growth and expansion of an organization. In view of this, a detail research has been conducted to know how effective planning can aid the growth and expansion of a company. Planning is regarded as the basic of management function, it involves setting standard and objectives of a company and the action to achieve them. More so, effective planning set the stage for integrated actions to occur and provides the basis for managerial function or control thereby focus on organizational goals and objectives. This project comprises of five chapters for easy assessment of the point that maybe raised by the researcher. The first chapter covers the introduction into details, chapter two comprises of the literature review which will examine the planning principles, how to go about planning, process and types of planning, the importance and the characteristics of planning including the reasons for planning shortcomings. Chapter three will be on the various means and techniques adopted in the process of the research for successful execution of the project. Chapter four dealt with the analysis of data, presentation of the data analyzed, test of the hypothesis and the performance indicator. While the last chapter was on recommendations, remedies, summary and conclusion of the research work done.
